Domino in Recovery
There are several of these unique trees on the beach. Don't know what they are.

This am I went straight
to the beach for a walk. I chatted with
a local man, Smitty, for quite a while.
He was born and raised in Grenada, but has lived in the USA for many
years. He tries to get back to Grenada
each year to visit family and to swim in the healthy waters. He says swimming each day in the warm ocean
keeps a person healthy. That, along with
all the fresh fruits and vegetables (and lack of fast food! They have a Subway and a Kentucky Fried
Chicken… and that is it!). Many of the
local folks swim early in the am, I don’t know why I have not been swimming
each morning… I told Smitty that I think I better do it tomorrow morning!
Beautiful blue waters and white sand beaches.
Many locals swim early every morning.
A handsome breakfast guest.
Enjoying some local produce!
Off we go for our
last day of clinics. Today I decided to
do the kitties. The cat patients were
all in rooms upstairs. Most of the cats
are feral and it seemed prudent to have them in a more enclosed area that was
quieter and less drama. It was actually
very calming in the cat area. I spayed
and neutered several tiny kittens and the rest were adults. That took most of the morning.
Yes, I actually did surgery, not just photography!

Don't those eyes just melt your heart?
The rest of the day
was spent doing spays and neuters on dogs.
The four surgeons were rotating tables and cases to get all the animals
taken care of. Then we had all the
cleaning and packing up to be done! I
think we sterilized about 130 animals in the three days. Not bad for a pilot project.

Some of our team has
to leave a day early, so we decided to go out for dinner as a group
tonight. Dinner at one of the local
resorts was highly recommended. After
getting cleaned up and dressed into clean clothes, we walked to a nearby resort
and had nice drinks and dinner. We were
seated on a patio with a nice view of the water. I had a very nice carrot soup and a wonderful
London Broil. The folks that had the
stuffed pork chops also enjoyed them.
The rest of the group was not impressed with their meals. The food, overall, on the island was nothing
to write home (or a blog) about. Oh
well.
Tomorrow will be our
free day to explore the island. Looking
forward to it!
See ya!
Stacy
